So, I've been to "Angelita's Bakery" last June 24, 2012 early in the morning.
It is located in 17 Biglang-awa St. 094 Caloocan City which is about 10 to 15 minutes walk from our house.
It is a bakery with a sari - sari store at one corner.
As I approach the bakery, I started to crave for bread, especially freshly baked Pan de sal.
"YUM!!!", I said in my mind cause I haven't eaten anything for breakfast.
I admit that I'm a "very-shy-don't-look-or-talk-to-me-if-you-don't-know-me-or-vise-versa" kind of person, which means that it's hard for me to ask the sales lady permission for me to take pictures.
LUCKILY, I asked my mom to go with me and ask permission to the sales lady.
While we're on our way to the bakery, my mom told me that they used to live near that bakery long before I was born. And that that bakery was so popular around that place before.
When we already have permission to take pictures and know every name of the breads,
I observed that they don't have Pan de sal on display.
And the lady told us that they get Pan de sal straight from the oven so it will be warm when bought.
To take pictures of Pan de sal, my mom and I bought 15 - 20 pieces of Pan de sal and then I took the photo. It really smell so good that I ate one piece before taking the photo. ΓΌ
LOOKS VERY TASTY RIGHT!? :D
I'm so amazed on how creative Filipinos are when it comes to naming breads and designing them.
Some looks different but has the same filling inside like the Hotdog Roll and the Hotdog Bun:
So if you don't want to see the hotdog, buy the Hotdog Bun. :)
Very interesting isn't it? No wonder how long has this bakery were established.
And the Pan de coco and Pan de monggo looks the same but the monggo has holes to see the inside filling:
They also have pastries like cakes, cupcakes, pies, and brownies that is very rare to see in a bakery.
Ever since I was small (a kid), I've always love eating breads.
Maybe it runs in my blood for my mother's father, my grandfather used to have a bakery at our province.
Before, during summer we go that province and I usually play inside the bakery which is handled by my uncle that time because my grandfather died years before I was born. I played with some bread dough cause it's like a modeling clay. Sadly, my uncle sold the bakery already.
. . .
Now, back to the Angelita's Bakery, I really enjoyed the trip to the bakery because its been a long time since I visited one. "Cause I really don't go out of our house except for school, mall, or church."
If you have time and you're near Caloocan City, why not visit Angelita's Bakery?
Their breads tastes really good and also makes you feel full for a cheaper price.
It is near EDSA so its very accessible. :)
COME, EAT, SAVE and SATISFY your HUNGER FOR BREADS & PASTRIES.
